• Hello Everyone,
I have an old web site – . I am hosting that at home. I am migrating this to the cloud to another WordPress site – dev.wordpress.com. I have a Blog page on the old site – and I want to migrate all of those entries from Site A to Site B. I have a plugin that allows me to export from a table, and import to a table. I have exported the “posts” table, and removed everything that looks like it isn’t a blog post. Can I just import that into the new database? What about the ID field? Can I use the existing ID, or do they need to come from the new database. What is the best way to do this? I could not export and import everything from the old site to the new site. There are some things that are a little different. Any help is appreciated!

Due to the differences between the various site hosting plans offered at wordpress.com and the self-hosted and self-installed version of WordPress supported here, you should probably ask WordPress.com Support instead.

If this relates to a theme from WordPress.com, please post in their theme forums.
