Moving a blog to a different URL

I have a start up blog which is meant to drive enquiries for my business consulting service. It has been set up at https://edsblog.themarketingdirector.co.za to be associated with the main web site of my business. However I am having second thoughts about the clumsiness of this URL and am considering switching the blog to another URL I own https://www.marketingstrategy.co.za which refers to what I do, and may attract more interest from the search engines.

So now two questions:
1. What are your opinions about using the current or proposed URL or doesn’t it matter
2. how would I transfer from one URL to another – do I need to first load WordPress at the new URL and then redo all my pages, posts, widgets and plugins or is there an easier way?
