• I am moving a 2.0.2 wordpress installation to a new host. The domain is staying the same. I know how to do everything, except I am unsure if /wp-content/cache/ needs to be copied over or not. The reason I am asking is because there are over 53 thousand .tmp files in a sub directory of that directory that clearly are unneeded (i assume anyway).

  • The cache folder will be re-created. However, old files should be deleted automatically.
And, by the way, upgrade to, at least, wordpress 2.0.10. It has many security fixes, because 2.0.2 got several well known security holes.
