• Hi, I use WP 4.1 with WP Aio Security and generally I am quite happy with your plug-in.

I am encountering brute force attacks quite often.

I would like to use either the cookie-based protection feature or the wp-login rename function, but currently both will prevent the double-opt in feature of “Register Plus Redux” plugin from working.

Do you have an alternative way of keeping a double-opt in registration intact while protecting the wp-login page?

    thx for any suggestions!!

    Cheers,
    Rob

Hi Rob, have you contacted the “Register Plus Redux” plugin developers?

An alternative plugin I suggest is Google Authenticator.

However any of the following Brute Force feature, Rename Login or Cookie base is more than enough for protecting the login page.

    Hi mbrsolution,

thank you for the quick reply!

I need the double opt-in to confirm/verify the E-Mail address (EU law), the suggested Google-Plugin will not do that, unfortunately.

RPR-Plugin uses the %verification_url% shortcode within the registration E-Mail that already contains the renamed login url in the format:

    https://blogname.de/renamed_login_url?action=verifyemail&verification_code=123xyz

So I think they did ok?!

Clicking on the verification link though results in a 404 error when the function in AIOWPS is active.

    Thanks again for your help.
    Cheers,
    Rob
