moved wordpress url and icons quit showing

I’m running the latest wordpress and it seems like the simple social icons widget isn’t pulling the correct icons for the social icons anymore.

I built the site at https://www.homedomain.com/newsite
Then added the new domain https://www.newsite.com to point at that wordpress install as it’s root. I updated the setting in wordpress, the index and .htaccess files as prescribed, but the social icons have stopped working with the new (live) version of the site.

Anyone have any ideas why it’s not pulling the icons for the social buttons anymore?
