• I created a website on https://brighterwebdesign.co.uk/glcalcados-wp/ and now I want to move it to https://glcalcados.com.br/

I moved the wp-content to the new website, use Search-Replace-DB to change the urls to glcalcados.com.br and uploaded the changed database to the new website.

On the website GLCALCADOs.com.br, if you click on any link it will take you back to the old brighterwebdesign.co.uk … I’ve checked databases and there’s no entries for https://brighterwebdesign.co.uk/glcalcados-wp/…

In an attempt to fix the problem, In “Settings” → “General,” I changed the address of your website AND the address of WordPress so now I can’t login to either website (wp-admin), it just keeps redirecting from one website to the other ?? please advise.

    Many thanks

  • It has to be the database. Log into your server’s phpmyadmin and look at the wp_options table.

Also make sure your theme has no hardcoded URLs. Maybe you hardcoded a URL somewhere that it’s using?

Disable any caching that you’re using. In fact, disable all plugins and change your theme to a default theme just to rule out a third party doing anything.

My bet is still on the db, though.

Thanks for the reply, you’re correct, it was the database. The program I used to replace the database Search-Replace-DB didn’t work properly.. As I checked the database I noticed there was some entries unchanged so I manually did on SQL. Many thanks
