1. For the moving itself it might be helpful:

2. For the URI change – ask a MySQL guru to help you with a query that would replace the old one with the new one.

FWIW, I just migrated a WP site from a subdomain to its own domain using the method posted in the codex, above—worked like a charm!

Thanks to whoever documented the steps for this. Now that I’ve moved this small site successfully, I feel more confident about moving my other WP sites.
