• I want to move my widget area completely out of the content area. I want them to be in two separate boxes. What php file do I go into the change where the widget is located? I did this for my header because I wanted my header image to be the full width of the page along with my navigation and it was easy to find, but now I can’t find where to do the same thing with my widget area. Thanks

ok thank you. What about the widget area?

The Main Sidebar or the two Front Page Sidebars?

all of them. I dont’ want a sidebar inside the main content at all.

Both sidebars are called just before footer.php. The main one is called by most of the template files whilst the front page one is called by page-templates/front-page.php. The simplest approach is probably to move </div><!-- #main .wrapper --> from your copy of footer.php into the top of your copy of sidebar.php and sidebar-front.php. That should move the widget areas out of the main content area but you will then need to do a lot of remedial CSS work to re-structure the new layout.

I tried that and all it did was move it further down in the box.
