Is there a way to move a top menu to the left as a sidebar? I tried creating and adding a sidebar widget and then updating the page template to “sidebar”, but I wasn’t able to customize the look/feel of this as I was the menu. I’d like to be able to update the menu background, font, hover states, etc.
    thanks!

  • A sidebar can be enabled on your home page via Appearance> Theme Options> Home Layout.

You’ll also choose which sidebar you’d like to display on your home page in that same area.

If you wish to create a new sidebar, you can do that via Appearance> Theme Options> Misc Settings.

You can place a menu in your sidebar by adding a Custom Menu widget via Appearance> Widgets.

Using that widget, you can enable a menu in your sidebar.

New menus are created via Appearance> Menus.

Let me know if that helps! Hopefully I was clear enough.

Thank you, but how would I customize the look/feel of that sidebar? I’d like to change the font size, styling, hover state, background color, etc.

CSS is probably your best bet on styling it. If you can post a link to your site, as well as describe how you want it to look, I’ll be happy to write the CSS for you.

Would this menu be responsive as well?

Yeah! All of the widgets that come with the theme are designed to behave responsively.
