I’ve read a lot of posts, but no real solution about changing hosting type and maintaining Jetpack/WP.com connection.

Went from Managed WordPress/linux to high resources cPanel/linux (GoDaddy)

Had to create the subdomains to accomplish the move. For some reason Jetpack saw the sub-domain change from domain.com to old.domain.com–maybe it obviously really didn’t disconnect before move.
Years of stats and subscribers on the old. and nothing on the new hosting install.
Askismet kept everything all in order – no problems with that.

? How would I sync and grab all the old data and pull it back to the normal domain.com

    Thank YOU!

Thank you to Jetpack support for quickly and manually changing the “new” internal install id created by the move from “old” install renamed old.domain.com (held stats) to the “new” hosting install to what it needed to be: the id held by old.domain.com

Hope people will affirm/confirm the disconnection from WordPress.com’s account from their “old” install before it is moved so that a “new” install id is not created that requires manual ID change/sync. If WordPress.com ever sees that the first was not disconnected completely – it will create a new blog/install id – and thus two sets of statistics. At least that is my restating logic of their notes to me.

I’m glad to hear you’re all set!

We’ve actually improved the process in the past few releases, but unfortunately it looks like your site slipped through the cracks. We’ll keep improving this in the next releases!
