“getting back the way it was” is more than a little difficult ! I’ve made so many changes to the css.

I haven’t changed the type of page.

Will put the old thinking cap on! If you see anything relevant in the css in the previous post do let me know!!

    Cheers

have just gone back to an earlier backup of the syle.css file but no good – still the same!

You might try playing around with viewport heights and see if that will do the trick. Is the video you have now the same video from before? If putting the older stylesheet back didn’t work, I’m wondering if perhaps this video has a different aspect ratio?

I’ve given up on the video backbround idea!

I’ve put link to Youtube video on front page which on my PC will autorun.

But! does not do this on my iphone5s – any idea why?

    Cheers

    Geoff

    Hi Geoff,

That’s a feature of phones, not a WordPress issue. Typically, autoplay is turned off on phones so you don’t incur data charges unless you specifically push play.

have not found how to turn on the autoplay on iphone5s yet!

    Geoff

    Hi Geoff,

I don’t know that there is a setting to turn video autoplay on on the iPhone. Like I said, it’s a “feature” of phones that autoplay is turned off, so you don’t end up paying for data that you didn’t intend to use. Also apparently to protect people from unintentionally seeing violent content in news sites, etc.

‘hope I’m not exceeding your patience!

I have started a twenty sixteen child theme and then I go to theme customize and add a tagline to the site identity. That works in that it shows up on the page when using firefox.

But! where is the code for this? I expect it to be in the header.php file in the child directory but cannot find it…

    Cheers

is this the explanation? the value of the tagline is in the database not in any of the css or php files!

    Geoff

    Hi Geoff,

Yes, the tagline value is stored in the database as blogdescription, i.e., it’s part of the “core’ of WordPRess. Some themes use it and some don’t; you would search for “bloginfo” in the .php files to find where it’s being output, and change how it looks in your stylesheet.
