Move member from one User Role to another

Hi kris,

You can certainly move a member from one role to another from the Users backend.

Go to Dashboard of WP > Users > Select the user(s) and change community role from member to any custom role you’ve created with Ultimate Member.

Another question, is it possible to add a “free text search”,
to the Member Directory search?

Would it be possible to add a search field, where members could type in whatever they where looking for, and the search function will then try to find the best match from whatever the other members have typed in.

For example:
A carpenter had type in “windows” in his description.

I search for “windows”.

The carpenters profile then shows up.

Makes sense?

Ultimate Member does not support search through description up to this stage, but you can add other fields and make them searchable such as user country, profession, skill, or whatever custom field. Some fields though do not get searched (Description is one of them)

Okay, I’ll try to find a solution.

Is it possible to allow line-breaks in text-areas?
When I as a member create a line-break in the description, it works perfectly, but when I try to add a line-break in a text-area named Skills, the line-breaks aren’t displayed when published.

Also, if I add a textarea to the Profile Form,
I can’t add it as a search option in the members directory.

We will have a look at the line break issue in a regular text area and see if we can replicate it.

It is not possible to add a text area to the search filers in the directory. Only certain field types can be added to the search filtes.
