Hello! I would love to be able to move the location map (on an individual event page) to a widget so I could place it in the sidebar. I’ve tried [location_map post_id=”event-post-id“], but it seems that the post id for that shortcode must be a location post id and not an event id.

Would also be great to specify zoom level for [location_map] in general.

Thanks so much for your consideration!

Thinking that the title should be changed to ‘Make Location Map available as a widget’…

    Hi,

Sorry, I’m not really following what you want to do. Am I right in thinking you want to put the map from the single event page into a widget area?

additional question, did you mean that the location map on text widget should load the current events location you are viewing ?

    Yes, thanks!

You should just be able to use #_LOCATIONMAP (from “Single event page format” under Events > Settings > Formatting > Events).

I just tried pasting that into a text widget and placing the widget on the event page, but the map does not load. It just reads ‘#_LOCATIONMAP’.

sorry I’m afraid that this is not possible at moment; the location map placeholder should be use inside the events shortcode or in the events formatting settings.
