Hello! I currently have EWWW image optimizer on my website. I want to uninstall it and replace it with ShortPixel.

My concern is that if I remove EWWW, will the image remain compressed and then will ShortPixel compress them even more? Or will the uninstalled plugin return the images to original uncompressed size?

I want to make sure when I switch to ShortPixel, the images won’t be “double compressed” as I had a previous compression plug in installed.

Hope this makes sense – I’ve researched extensively, but have not found this question/answer anywhere ??

Hello and thank you for your message! ??

From what I know, removing EWWW shoudln’t affect your images which should remain optimized.

About not double-compressing the images, I see two options to this:
    1) restore all the images optimized already with EWWW and then remove EWWW. Then just install ShortPixel and have all the images bulk optimized with ShortPixel
    2) leave the images optimized by EWWW but never run Bulk ShortPixel, instead just leave ShortPixel automatically optimize only the new images.

    Best regards,
    Alex
