Mouse Over feature does not work

I have the footnotes plugin installed on two WordPress sites on the same server. They both have been set up with the same settings.

The Mouse Over feature does NOT work on one (older site with many more plugins) but does work on the other (a cleaner new site).

There is probably a plugin conflict here with the site that has a lot more plugins than the other.

Any suggestions where to look first?
