most popular Vs recommended

@whistlerdan — Our Related Content plugin and our Most Popular plugin work differently.

Related Content will show recommendations for articles that are similar to the article that a reader is currently on.

Most Popular will show the top viewed posts by pageviews over a selected period of time.

That’s kind of what I thought….. but then I saw this website (https://www.canonrumors.com/2014/09/preorder-the-canon-eos-7d-mark-ii/) which seems to be using “most popular” ( i inspected the source code) yet the content is clearly working in a similar way to “related content” because all the posts are related to that current post’s content.

@whistlerdan — Just as a note, what you’re seeing on that page is actually the Related Content plugin. Most Popular code appears in the page source to keep track of pageviews, but that site runs Most Popular on other pages (the homepage)
