Starting sometime after 12/29/21 and before 1/3/22, almost all of the content in the Yoast widget is not displayed – only the 4 tabs at the top show, nothing else loads below them. We have narrowed the problem down to desktop Safari – everything’s normal in Chrome on the same device, and in Safari on a different Apple device (iPad) running on the same home network, and also on other peoples’ PCs running various OS/browsers. We removed the ad blocker extension from Safari, but the problem persists. Any ideas on what could cause this, and other troubleshooting steps to try (bearing in mind that the troubleshooting is being done by someone working remotely who is not able to reproduce the problem on their own devices)?

We are sorry to hear that you’re experiencing the blank meta box issue by using Safari. I can imagine how this could be frustrating for you when the meta box doesn’t work as expected. Let’s see how we can help you out to solve the issue.

You mentioned the issue doesn’t appear in Chrome but only Safari.

This might be occurring, in some instances, due to the Imperva CDN/WAF. It’s documented in this issue.

Could you check if you are using the Imperva CDN/WAF feature on your website? Also, any similar JavaScript error appearing in Safari browser console?

We do know of some cases of JavaScript manipulation which alters the code of one of the Yoast JavaScript files which are used to load the Yoast metabox.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for your reply. It looks like it was something about the plugin after all, as the latest update resolved the issue.
