most images not working, just moved server (urgent)

I recently moved / have been trying to move a development site across from my own server (where is works fully) to a dev area behind the existing client site.

The problem has arisen that some, but not all, of the images don’t load. The files are in place, the database still knows where they are, they just don’t show up? I can’t access them directly either but i can view them via cpanel or download using filezilla … I orignally thought it was some serialisation issue but i’ve dropped and imported the database a few times to no avail … getting frustrated as the site is due live soon!

pls help
