Mosaic feature not showing all pictures

    Hello,

    I am currently having a small issue with the built-in mosaic feature for image galleries.
    I have set up a new page with pictures. Activated the mosaic feature to show a neat overview of all the pictures in random order.

    The problem is, for some images (not always the same ones) it seems that the thumbnails are not generated. I can click the place where the image should be and it opens up in the carousel view, but the page only shows a blank space where the thumbnail should be.

    Do you know where the problem may be?

  • Hi hoomel,

    Are you using any caching right now? The images are not loading because the server request is timing out, meaning that it is not requesting them in time to load them. I’d first look at plugins that might be causing this load to slow, starting with caching plugins.

    Sorry to take so much time to answer this.

    I have not installed (knowingly) any plugins that would be caching.

    These plugins are installed currently:

    1. Ajax Event Calendar, Akismet
    2. Jetpack from WordPress.com
    3. Resize images before upload
    4. Secure WordPress
    5. Ultimate TinyMCE
    6. WP Overview(lite)

    It does not seem to me that these plugins have anything to do with it.

    Hi Marc,

    My thought right now is that due to the load time that is taking place for some of those photos, they are timing out. Jetpack uses a server for some images to improve the way that the mosaic works. If they’re too large for whatever reason, it will time out to avoid causing issues with the server, which will make some images simply not load.

    Unfortunately the best way to fix that is just to reupload a smaller image.

    Sorry to not get back to this sooner.

    The suggestion was right, it was the image size of some photos. I have reduced to an acceptable level and they are all loading up correctly.
