• I’m using the more types plugin to create custom post types. In the advanced section there’s an option to use permalinks, and a field to set the ‘permalink base’. I’ve set this base, and there’s now pretty readable permalinks happening on the page, but I’m receiving 404 error messages instead of page content.

Is there a step I’m missing to get wordpress to interpret the content correctly?

    Thanks,
    Jesse

  • I’m having a similar issue with a website i’ve inherited.

Oddly, the issue has resolved itself. I’m no longer receiving 404 error messages. I’m wondering if there is a caching issue somewhere (I don’t have caching set on WP).

    hi there,
I had a similar issue and it also was solved with a pinch of magic ??
Problem is probably with invalid/expired direct link in post you’re editing (it’s saved in post table in database).
Whene you change custom post slug, permalink settings etc – link for post should be updated, but was not – 404 gone just after I clicked [Update] in (custom) post form.
