    Good morning,

After running a scan of my site, I got a LOT of issues, more than 3,000. From seeing what was wrong, it seems that every file is giving an issue, which I don’t seem to understand.
    For example,

    Filename: wp-admin/wp-settings.php
    File Type: Core
Details: This file is in a WordPress core location but is not distributed with this version of WordPress. This scan often includes files left over from a previous WordPress version, but it may also find files added by another plugin, files added by your host, or malicious files added by an attacker.

There are so many other files like this, especially in the wp-admin/ that is raising red flags.

Does this mean my site has been hacked, or did I configure WF incorrectly? Nothing looks out of the ordinary, to be honest.

    Hi @hozayrayz

The wp-settings.php file exists in the root directory of WordPress and not in the wp-admin directory.

Did you make any changes prior to getting these scan results that could have caused this?

    same person here.

Weirdly enough… It seems as if there is a replica of my website within wp-admin/

    There is wp-admin/ , wp-content/ , wp-includes/ WITHIN wp-admin/ …
I’m going to remove it and see what other anomalies there are.

I just removed all these copied files and the scan went well!
