More tag does not work in 2.7

I have tried using the more tag in the past with no result. I upgraded to 2.7 when it came out thinking this would fix any issues and it did not. I type in text, click the more button, add more text, etc.

When I go to preview the post it shows up like a normal post with no more split of any kind.

What could I be doing wrong? I appreciate any help you may be able to offer ??
