more precise cropping of thumbnails only

    Hi,

    This could potentially be a very useful plugin. Thanks for all the work you’ve put into it.

    Question: i need to be able to perform very precise cropping of ONLY the thumbnails, but your plugin only allows rough cropping positions. However, if I switch to ‘Edit Image’ view in the WP media editor, then select ‘apply changes to: Thumbnail’ in the ‘Thumbnail Settings’ box on the RHS, then crop my image and save, then it appears that I CAN perform very precise cropping of ONLY the thumbnail (via WP). BUT, when I click your plugin ‘Details’ button, it still appears to be showing the previous version of the thumbnail, without my recent cropping changes. Refreshing/reloading the Edit media screen doesn’t seem to make any difference either.

    Is there a way please, to perform such precise cropping using the standard WP cropping tool and have the result show up in your plugin, as I would have expected?

    PS. as an alternative, is there any method of replacing JUST the thumbnail with a completely different image altogether (eg: a newly uploaded one, rather than one produced by cropping by plugin/wp)?

    Hi,

    If I understand correctly what you describe, you are changing the thumbnail from the edit media screen, but you don’t see it reflected after you refresh the page. This seems like a cache issue.

    I was trying to replicate the issue, but I cannot, please see my example of how to fine-tune just a single image and only the thumbnail sub-size of it.
