Where would I paste that for it to work? I couldn’t seem to find anything that said

If you want to use the perpages one, you will need to copy and paste and save it as a .php file. The upload it to your plugins folder (when you have set how many posts you want where).

Then what, it’s here;

but says there’s a error but I can’t see one or figure it out X__x;;

That is one I haven’t seen before. I have always just saved, uploaded and activated. Hopefully someone else can shed some light…
Or you could give the custom query strings plugin a go.
