• Hi,

I am trying to find out if it is possible to show “more images” on the attachment page?

I am NOT using the lightbox option. I am using the Attachment page option.

What I am trying to do is below each image show more images from the same gallery (if available)?

I reached out via email but there was no solution to this, so putting this on a public forum to see if anyone else had a similar requirement.

    Thanks

    Hi @spk100

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

When using the Attachment page option, it is currently not possible to show the “more images” button on that attachment page so as to have the rest of that gallery loaded on that attachment page.

With that said, it does sound like an interesting feature, and I’m going to pass this request over to the rest of the development team to review and consider as a possible future feature. ?However, I can’t offer any guarantees about if and when it might happen as we already have an extensive list of new features in our development pipeline.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

    Kind regards,
    Elvis.

    Thanks Elvis.

As against a button for “more images”, it would be great if we can show the additional images in a grid (similar to the one that is already on the lightbox view).

    hey @spk100

I have thought about a solution to this. Unfortunately, this will not be developed as a feature in FooGallery, and will have to be done via custom development on your end.

The attachment page is built into WP and changes slightly theme by theme. The attachment page does not know about the gallery, so the galleryID will have to be passed via a querystring param. This can be done using the filter foogallery_process_image_url.

You will then need to alter your attachment template (located in the theme) to check for the galleryID param and load the gallery to do what you need.

    Thank you.

One question. Is this something that you would be able to help as a paid development?

    Thanks

    hi @spk100,

We do not provide custom development, but you can find a junior dev to handle this type of work, and it should not take long. FreeUp or Upwork

Perfect. I will take a look around.

    Thank you @bradvin

    @bradvin

Based on your input, I got a dev to work on this and got the related galleries to show up.
The related gallery is limited to 10 images now.

But I am unable to show the related images dynamically, it always loads from the first.

For example, if I have 20 images in a gallery and if I visit the 4th image, then I want other images excluding the 4th image to show.

At the moment, irrespective of which image link I go to, it shows from the 1st image till 10th including the 4th.

If I go to 1st image, then it shows 1 to 10.

Is there a way to modify which images show up in the related gallery?

    Thanks

PS: Elvis has the url to my gallery via the support ticket I created or I can privately share it with you via email.

This is logic the developer needs to implement, and has nothing to do with FooGallery.

If you need to find out which attachments are within a gallery, then pull the postmeta from the gallery custom post type. The meta key is foogallery_attachments

    Thanks @bradvin

    This is now sorted.
