Thanks so much for your suggestion. Unfortunately, I don’t see this option being directly supported since it would have the potential to cause serious slowdowns with the algorithm used to generate the gallery.
That said, since descriptions support the use of HTML, you could achieve a similar result by simply including image-link combinations to your alternative document formats within the description.
With the development version mentioned in the post you mentioned, you can actually start using it now if you like (just unzip it and manually replace your current version of the plugin with it). It should be fully functional now, I just haven’t had time to test for any bugs that might still be lurking and write up the documentation.
The format to use that version is the same as the current, except that if the ids
attribute is included then it will not automatically pull all attached documents from a post. All of the attributes documented will work alongside ids, except the order
and orderby
.
An example usage would be this: [dg ids=3,51,3,700]
(note that the ids have commas and no spaces).
