    A company I’m working with is interested in creating an internal website. That’s easy.

    However, they are looking to create a hierarchy that I don’t know how to.

    Tags = content
    Categories = topic

    So far, so good.

    But they want to add two new levels: market and department.

    Department would be things like “Marketing” or “Engineering”. Authors would have to be assigned to departments. It’s important that an author could be assigned to more than one department (e.g., the Director of Business Development would need the ability to post under “marketing”, “engineering”. “production”, and “sales”).

    The Market category would be open to everyone, but needs to be separate from categories (for internal sorting purposes).

    I know that this is a complex question. I would search for answers, but I don’t know the right terms to use in the search. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.
