More detail about ‘Product visibility’ setting

Hi there

Could you clarify what the visibility setting does as I am trying to test but not sure what I should expect as a result.

When filtering products by tags (terms) I can only see products if their setting is ‘Catalog & Search’. If I set it to ‘search’ only no results are found.

Could you explain the difference between the two settings as the documentation is a bit light on definition.
