• Using WordPress to build a CMS for a publisher, each post is about a publication, and has custom fields like ISBN no. Title. Pages etc. which is going into custom field key/value pairs, but in stead of entering them one by one on the post screen, would like to have say 5 standard fields ready for data entry, to be saved in one go by the data capturer.

Is there a plugin for 2.0 that would sort this? or an easy hack or any advice (e.g. to list all existing keys)?

(I’ve only read the backpage of my brand new php manual so far, but am feeling brave :), deadline is tight :(.

    Thanx.

works great as a quick fix, does mean when you go back to edit a post, both CFGUI and WordPress’s lists are displayd wasting some space, also, it would be ideal if one could somehow add an ‘note’ in the config file to be displauyd next to the entering fields in the post screen e.g. to remind data capturers of format etc.

I wanted that very note function too.. I was gonna try and work out how we could do it!

When you guys say, “next to the entering fields in the post screen”, do you mean as in, below where they type in the post content ?

    That can be done easily.

What I mean is I’d like to add some instructions and titles into the custom field gui like – THIS

I’ve explained how I thought it could work here -> https://rhymedcode.net/maintenance/compatible-with-wp-20-beta-1/?comments=true

bump.. I was wondering if anyone could help us with this functionality – (adding notes to custom field gui plugin)..

    lellie,
I saw on rhymedcode that you figured out a way to put titles in, could you send me the modified plugin? You should post it somewhere to make it available. thanks in advance.
