• I’ve been reading thru codex and the support forums to find a way to either:
    1) be able to customize WHAT SURROUNDS the more content when it opens so that it will be surrounded, NOT by the index page but the correct page of the post’s category
    OR
    2) simply open the moretext in a PopUp (maybe by editing template-functions-post.php??) but I guess this would just pop up the entire index page around it again, wouldn’t it. rats.
I’ve got my site (www.metroeveningnews.com) set up on 1.5.1 so that the categories display on customized pages so I was really hoping that when they clicked on “more” they’d be taken to read the entire story on its category page. Guess my misinterpretation of what the more function is.
I’m going to try the scriptygoddess expandable more plugin, I guess that would be the next best thing.
sorry to be so long-winded! All I meant to say is, If someone has successfully created the ‘more pop-up’ I’d love to know how!

  • This collasable “more” plugin is a little easier to install than the ScriptyGoddess hack.

Just for clarification, the more tag is designed to be used in a post that is longer than desired. You place the tag at the point you want too truncate. When clicked on it unfolds to show the rest of the entry either as a popup or it expands on the index page.

Both Scripty’s and the below plugin expand on the index page.
