• Sending mail via SMTP is easy — especially when your plugin wraps another, far more powerful app called PHPMailer. So the fact that this plugin hides the darn mail logs, and offers no detailed SMTP settings (like accepting self signed certificates), even though the Open Source library that it’s using supports all those things by default, is ridiculous.

For a more capable plugin that focuses on doing what it promises rather than extracting your cash via slick pigeon illustrations, try Easy WP SMTP .

  • Hi @samtuke,

I’m sorry for any frustration here. Though we do offer a paid version with extra features and premium support, we’ve also been very intentional about making sure our free version has everything that the vast majority of WordPress sites need to get emails delivering successfully from their site.

Our goal in this plugin continues to be making this complex issue of email deliverability as quick and straightforward to address as possible, no matter the level of technical experience.

It sounds like our plugin isn’t the right fit for you right now, but we hope you’ll consider us again down the road.
