Monthly Archives for Specific Categories

  • So here is my problem, I’m trying to list the monthly archives for a specific category. When a visitor clicks on a link for a specific month, WordPress would only display posts in that month and only from a specific category. Unfortunately, the wp_get_archives template tag doesn’t allow one to query from a specific category (at least that’s what I’ve gathered from what I’ve read in the codex and in these forums).
    I did a bit of searching and found a plug-in that does exactly what I’ve been looking for. However, that plug-in hasn’t been updated for WordPress 2.3 and the unofficial update from a commentator on the developer’s blog doesn’t work for me.

    Don’t know if you still follow this thread, but in case you do, I’ve updated the plug-in and it now supports WordPress 2.3.

    Hi Kwebble.. I’m using 2.5.1

    The plugin works great. But I need it to retrieve posts of the category children too which it is not. Pls help.
