Monitor URL Post Status

Dear support

we are not sure how the option Monitor URL is working. We have a custom post type “events” in this custom post type we use a post expirator to set status after the event date automated to “draft”. Does the option Monitor URL also create redirects for the old URL when is activated for “events” when set to draft?

If not is there another way to create automated redirects for this?
