Modyfy Theme

  • I’ve just modified the default TwentyTen theme, and I want to rename it such that it’s not called TwentyTen but something personal like ‘maintheme’ – such that after renaming, I can reinstall TwentyTen without removing my modifications. It’s like making a new theme out of an old one.

    I wonder if this is possible?

  • Change the folder name to something else and change the info at the top of style.css so it doesn’t look for updates. But unless you change function names in functions.php, the header image picker will retain the twenty ten name.
