    Jetpack Mechanic ??

I assume you’re working locally? When you install Jetpack on a site that’s not publicly accessible, it automatically switches to development mode, to allow you to use all the features that do not require a connection to WordPress.com.

Once you start working on a live site, you’ll be able to connect Jetpack to your WordPress.com account and use all the modules, including those that require some communication between your site and WordPress.com.

    I hope this helps.

Yes I′m working locally. So that′s why. ;D I appreciate very much to hear from you. Great. ?? Best Regards ??

    May I comment on this?

I do not need or want a wordpress.com site or address, I have my own server.

Does this mean the other activities are not available?

@malky You do not need to create a WordPress.com site or address to use Jetpack. You do, however, need a WordPress.com account if you want to use any of the features that rely on the WordPress.com infrastructure.

When linking your site to WordPress.com, you’ll be able to create a WordPress.com account without creating a WordPress.com site.

If you do not want to create a WordPress.com account either, you won’t be able to connect Jetpack to WordPress.com, and you can activate Jetpack’s development mode to use all the features of Jetpack that do not require a WordPress.com connection.

I now have my account with wordpress.com.

Half of the options still aren’t available and I assumed I had to add my account name or something, but cannot see how that is done? I’m not sure what you mean linking my site to wordpress.com?
Just point me to a relevant FAQ or something and I can check it, please?

    Thanks.

You can connect your site and your WordPress.com account by clicking on the “Connect” button in the Jetpack menu in your dashboard:
    https://i.wpne.ws/YxJC
    https://jetpack.me/support/installing-jetpack/

If that connect button doesn’t appear, it’s because your site is currently in development mode, as I mentioned earlier.

Ah, ok. Thanks for that. It makes things more difficult though if trying to test contact forms before going live etc when they aren’t available?

    Cheers.

You should be able to activate the Contact Form module, since it doesn’t require a connection to WordPress.com.
