Modifying styles.css in Classic Template ?

I tried fiddling around with what was on https://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/graphicalcss/content/index.html but maybe you can tell me where I am going wrong.

What I would like is to simply increase the area of the posts which is under step 6 of the link to be same size as the “top margin”, which is area 1. But there is no styles.css for the top margin.

or put it another way, the posted text in step 6, i want it to cover the entire white box as listed in the diagram. any words of wisdom?

Calm down. I know this is complicated.

First of all, don’t use points in your fonts. Second, you won’t find “margin” as one of your styles, you will have to find the style reference (header, footer, sidebar, menu,…) and then find the margin reference in that style. If there isn’t one, you can add it. Third, the blockquote is a special highlighted area of text that is used to highlight a quote like this:

This is a nice blockquote. See how it indents and looks different from the text. It is used to highlight a comment or information.

The area that you will be posting to is called the content in your template file and found as #content in your style sheet, usually.
