Modifying search results

    I did search before posting this.
    I want my search results to display as links to articles, or at least excerpts of articles. Right now, search results return complete articles. I am using the plain vanilla wp search. Thanks in advance.

    I should add that my theme is very minimal and does not have a search.php or searchform.php

    Just have a look at / into (?) the search.php of the default theme. There’s what you’re looking for I think.
