• I have set up a child theme for Refur and I am stuck on a few modifications.

    1) the theme has a php for a page header image for sub pages. I want to try to replace this with a different pages header image for each page, but despite all my best efforts (including modifying the ‘custom-header.php’ file in the parent theme and adding a new file with the same name to the child theme), I cannot get this to work. Can you please let me know how to achieve this change? Which files to edit?

    2) the featured image on the blog seems to be resized to 210*710px. Despite adding some CSS to the pages in questions I cannot seem to alter this image so that the featured image resizes to a more suitable ratio for the images (16×9)

The site I am working on is our new website here:

    Thanks for any help.

  • 1. There are plugins that allow for this kind of “different header per page”
    – You could also create “custom page templates” for each page…..

    Probably more options here.

    2. This link may help you get there.

    Thanks.

I have tried using a plugin to do this, but the theme’s code overrides the changes when you refresh the screen.

It would be really useful if teFox could come on and help with this issue. Adding an option to allow for a different header image on each page and also to enable users to adjust the height of the image on screen should be a fairly basic requirement for most themes I would have thought. Also the ability to add a slider to the header area would be nce.

It is frustrating when every developer decides to reinvent the wheel for every theme! it is an issue with some many WP themes – time an again you run into very basic problems!
