Modify User Profile Before Approve

  • Hi,
    I was looking for any extended functionalities where i can modify the user information before user approval.
    Like i want to assign member type while approving the user signup.

    Out of curiosity, how much of that is already being done upon user creation, with your current setup?

    Asking because we don’t hinder the user registration process at all, really. We merely attach some user meta to the new user marking them as “pending approval”, and based on that setting, limit what they can do and/or where they can go. Also with those limits, it’s only for BuddyPress/bbPress areas. If your site has a standard blog, or ecommerce store, etc, they would be able to visit and fully interact as a logged in user in those areas.

    I am using Gwangi theme which is basically community/social based theme.
    I just need to put some functionality where admin can assign the BP Membership Type while Approving the User Signup Request. If it is possible.

    I have to assume it can be done, but it sounds like it’s going to need custom development to achieve, since we don’t have any functionality around membership assignment.

    We don’t really have extensibility, that I can presently think of, that would allow adding UI for assignment either, during the approval process.
