Modify Storefront Search Functionality

  • Hello,

    Currently i have 2 search bars on my development site. One is storefront default search bar at the top right and the second one is woocommerce search widget on the left sidebar.

    What i am looking for is:
    Enable search bar to search for categories, subcategories and products. If user searches for parent category then it should list all its sub categories, and if user searches sub category then it should list all products under that subcategory.

    Please advise.

    You’d need some custom coding for that – there’s no default options in Storefront (or WooCommerce for that matter) that allows for that.

    Your best bet would be to get in touch with a web developer to build that for you, or you could look at Woo’s customization programme: https://woocommerce.com/customizations/
