Modify search to index swf files?
-
I have been learning about swfir (swf image replacement) and sIFR (scalable inman flash replacement). I am modifying parts of WordPress to display graphic content in swf, but making the text within the swf selectable/readable.
I know that one of the benefits of Flash 8 is that you can create swf files that are indexable by search engines using the open source Macromedia Flash Search Engine Software Development Kit (SDK). I think it would fantastic if there was a way to modify the WordPress search to be able to index swf content within the site, so that you could easily find content within the flash files without having to use metadata or hidden HTML.
Unfortunately, I have no idea how to do this. I know the tools are out there, I just wouldn’t know how to begin making them work together. Does anyone have any ideas how to begin?
