Modify news 0.2 theme created by Justin

  • Hello all,
    I am currently using news 0.2 theme created by Justin. But I want some few modifications into it.
    I have tried to look around the files in theme but could not succeed.

    I want to
    1. Add “Read more” link after 100 or any no. of words (configurable) in each post on home page.
    2. Change no. of posts per page
    3. Make a parent page non clickable in every menu (Primary, secondary, subsidiary)

    Please anyone who has idea about this theme kindly help me to get the above 3 tasks done

  • 1. Use plugin called auto-excerpt-everywhere so you do not need to edit your theme files.

    2. To change no. of posts per page, you can configure via wp-admin area. Settings -> Reading and just change the value on Blog pages shot at most … posts into desired value.

    3. If you are using custom menus (custom links), just use # for the URL.

    Hi Blacklitz,
    thanks for plugin suggestion, I will check it and update here.
    For the no. 3rd problem, I am using wordpress pages not the custom links, so there is no textbox for entering the url for pages except for home page.
    If you can spend a little time then please try this theme then check for custom menus. I will be very thankful to you if you check this and provide some suggestion.
