    Hi.

    I hope you’re having a good day.

    I tried several translation plugins (and hated WMPL complexity!) and yours is very simple yet powerful!

    I have an issue about hreflang links, I searched in the forum but didn’t find an answer.

    I have some woocommerce product with variations.

    Single product variations are linked and indexed by Google.

    I have a canonical link to the main product and dome hreflang link to the translated version of the variations, together with a x-default link to the product variation itself in the main language.

    <link rel="canonical" href="https://giroinmongolfiera.com/catalogo/le-ceramiche-delle-nostre-mongolfiere/" />

    <link rel="alternate" hreflang="it-IT" />

    <link rel="alternate" hreflang="en-US" />

    <link rel="alternate" hreflang="it" />

    <link rel="alternate" hreflang="en" />

    <link rel="alternate" hreflang="x-default" />

    Everything seems ok, but actually ScreamFrog and other SEO tools returns errors when a hreflang have parameters in the link. And I guess that Google does so too.

    Is there a way to set product variations to have hreflang links to the canonical product link, not the variations itelself?

    Even a plugin, or some custom code to add…

    Or is there any documentation that can certify that it is better to link to the variation’s translations even if SEO tools labels it as an error?

    Thank you very much for your help.

    Have a nice day.

    Hi @dannesti,

    Please check the index of your website using https://search.google.com/search-console/welcome Google Search Console. It will give you a clear report as to whether something is not indexed correctly, not a 3’rd party.

    I’m not excluding a conflict with our plugin, just saying you need Google Search Console active to properly identify the issues regarding crawling certain URL. There is even a URL checker so you can test if there are problems with a particular URL: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/9012289?hl=en ??????
    That being said, if you spot any anomalies, or you get any errors reports in GSC related to the secondary language, then please let us know and send them to us, so we can investigate further.
