    Hello.

I want to modify some files, such as neve>inc>views>template_parts.php
I can do it without any problem in the parent theme, but I would to modify it in the child theme I created, and I can’t: no change is seen.
    Could you help me, please?

    Thanks!

  • Hi @percal,

    Thanks for choosing Neve!

Only the files from the views folder within the root folder of Neve can be modified in the child theme, not the files from inc>views. You can find out more about the child theme here.

    Have a nice day!

    Ok, thank you.

that’s really bad. I can not understand why you won’t allow other files to be edited. your set of configurations is simply not enough. or you only want simple websites to be developed with your theme. it would just be normal behavior to allow any file I need to be added in the child theme, so I won’t have to replace them manually every time there is an update. and yes, I could update the child files if needed, but that would be less frequent.

    Hi @dreamsoft!

It’s possible to use the functions defined in files that are not in the views folder in the functions.php file of the child theme. This way other components or pages can be customized as well even if their particular file isn’t in the views folder.

    Have a nice day!
