• Hey there,

I just read all the documentation relative to using custom markers on the map.

The problem is this workaround of yours works with an external plugin + couple functions in the backend, enabling category images via plugin and THEN replacing the marker for the category image it pertains to.

I was wondering if there’s a cleaner, simpler way to do this.
Many map-oriented templates just print the category the marker pertains to as a html attribute, therefore it gets output on the structure of the page itself and then later you can style the marker the way we want just with a few CSS lines.

We are wondering if there’s a similar approach to this or if it has been done, and if so, the pertinent documentation so we can build it the same way.

    Thank you,

The only way to use custom markers for categories unfortunately requires a third-party plugin. I do plan to change that in the future, but it’s for now the only way to make it work with categories.
