Modifiying Template

  • So I’m just learning how to use WordPress, I know Joomla pretty well so it’s not my first time at CMS. I’m confused how I might go about editing the template? I see there’s a place in the WP admin panel where you can go edit the CSS and some pages of HTML but would that be the proper way to go back about making changes to the template? Just so I know that where I’m starting is the correct place. I’m looking to change around the whole template not just a few things here and there.

    You can change the templates with the online editor you found if you want to, but for serious template changes you will find it easier to edit on your computer using a text editor and an FTP program.

    Your theme’s template files are found in /wp-content/themes/{themename}/
