    Hi,

I installed WP Hide & Security Enhancer last night on several of my websites. When I ran a Wordfence scan, the scan indicated that the WP Hide & Security Enhancer readme.text was modified from the original WordPress plugin files. The modification was identified in the readme.txt. The scan warned about this same modification on all of the sites that I installed the plugin last night.

The modification according to the Wordfence scan occurred in line 8 of the readmetxt (wp-content/plugins/wp-hide-security-enhancer/readme.txt): The words, “License: GPLv2 or later,” were added.

Is this a modification that the developer made recently, or was my plugin modified by a hacker?

    Thanks,
    Adrienne

    Hi Adrienne,
Sorry about the trouble, i just updated the readme.txt file so there was no hacker. Wordfence should just ignore such files as developers may change that from time to time e.g. compatibility updates.

    Thanks
