Modification of Admin "All Posts" Page

I’m creating a plugin that would allow users to choose articles for posting from an external host. One feature that I would like to include is an article list (seperate from the user’s existing post list) located on the Administration All Posts page (wp-admin/edit.php) above the div.wrap area. This is relatively easy to do as a widget on the Admin Dashboard, but I can find no documentation on what is involved on the Posts page. Is it possible to make a widget-ish section on the Administration All Posts page? If there are other plugins that make use of that area, that too would be of assistance to get me started. Thanks!
