Problem with my account name

    posted a review on here for a plugin & somehow rather than showing my username like normal my email address is showing up in brackets – obviously I do not want my email address on display to the world really.

    any way of having the review amended/deleted, I found an email address field in account settings but doesn’t seem to change it when clicking update

    in fact I don’t seem to be able to update anything on my account profile…

    You can only change your displayed name (which you seem to have done). The username that you used to sign up with is fixed and cannot be changed (even by us).

    can you delete the review if I post a link though as that shows my email address still?

    I can have a look but it is not the general policy to edit or delete forum posts. When a post is made, it becomes part of the community resource for others to benefit from. Editing or deleting posts removes this added value. In extreme circumstances, the moderation team might be persuaded to remove sensitive information but, as you chose to use your email address as you username when you signed up, I wouldn’t describe this as an extreme situation.

    Well, I didn’t choose to use the email address – somehow the account had changed – all my previous posts just showed ‘Jai’ and suddenly yesterday it decided to show my email address instead..

    I’m afraid you did. You used it as your username when you originally created an account on www.remarpro.com 3 years ago. As I understand it, all review posts that you create will continue to display your email address/username. Your only option at this time is to create a new account and let this one lapse.

    No I didn’t, it hasn’t shown on any previous posts, just this one.

    Would it really hurt to delete the review, I’ll write a new one in it’s place..

    all review posts that you create will continue to display your email address/username
