    Hi Guys

I remember ‘in the old days’ if a new registered user made a post it would appear in your moderation queue (note this is for new posts not comments).

Now, I can’t work out how to do this in the latest version of WP.

Based on a brand new unmodified WP install, please can someone let me know what level a user would need to be to enable them to write a post which goes into the moderation queue before being published.

I have the role manager plug-in installed but all I have been able to do with this is enable a user with ‘contributor access’ to publish a post (at which point the post appears straight away on my blog which I don’t want).

Ideally I’d like to be able to check their first post and if this post is Ok (and is authorised via the mod queue), enable the user to post their second, third and forth posts without any further moderation.

    Hope you can help ??

    Cheers

I need an answer to this too… help! I have it so that comments can be moderated but i need also to enable moderation on posts by registered users… and comments by them as well. Don’t like to have to be so controlling, but need to…

Don’t mix the two issues: posts and comments.

Users at the contributor level can write a post but they can not publish it. The post will be published only if an admin (or Editor) accepts it.

As for comments: you have all the tools for moderating comments > see your own admin panel: Options > Discussion.
